The issue of environmental protection is also considered by Modebest at all stages of construction work. We aim to carry out our work to exceed current legislation and systems to ensure any environmental impact is kept to a minimum. As with Health and Safety, environmental issues are considered at planning stage and like health and safety we aim to exceed the minimum standards wherever possible. We have devised an environmental policy and are always improving our management systems to deal with environmental issues. We supply environmental storage containers to all sites for storage of hazardous materials and also drip trays to catch any spills. We also segregate waste on site before disposing. While construction is in progress, we have people on-site whose responsibility it is to ensure that there is minimal environmental damage, disruption or nuisance on or adjoining the site. We understand the implications of noise, air, water and waste pollution, and adopt appropriate working practices.At all times we aim to follow the ethos of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and have recently signed up to The Construction Commitments: Halving Waste to Landfill supported by WRAP. |
