Modebest are delighted to have recently been awarded a civil engineering contract by our client Morgan Sindall for a project, Thorn Turn Waste Park & Highways Depot, near Houghton Regis for Bedfordshire County Council. Work has recently started on site in order to construct the civils infrastructure for a waste re-cycling park and a new Highways Depot.
The project consists of large areas of concrete and tarmacadam paving together with reinforced concrete retaining walls and ramps, building foundations and both under-slab and site-wide drainage and services.
There are over 14 kilometres of drains and services and in excess of 7,000m3 of concrete to be placed in a programme duration of 30 weeks.
